New Friend Mono | Pixel Sans-Serif Typeface

Teaching a new dog old tricks! This monospaced sans-serif typeface was created primarily using a 15 pixel by 20 pixel grid, and taking direct inspiration from retro gaming. While pixel type is more often associated with rigidity to bring an overtly retro feel, New Friend Mono takes inspiration from role-playing games that represent modern settings such as Pokémon, Paper Mario, and Earthbound; as while they are text-heavy and must maintain legibility, they are able to still complement softer environments.

The typeface contains 4 variants (Regular, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic), and includes approx. 353 glyphs per variant (as of March 2025), including:

- Uppercase letters

- Lowercase letters

- Numerals

- Symbols

- Accent Marks (Uppercase and Lowercase)

The download includes the New Friend Mono typeface in OTF (Open Type Font) files, and as TTF (True Type Font) files.
